Hundreds of children from St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School in Maida Vale dressed up as cats or canines for charity to lift funds and consciousness for the Mayhew animal welfare charity on Friday 19 May.
Thanks to the fundraising efforts of a former St. Joseph’s pupil, 14-year-old animal lover and charity supporter Helena Atkinson, over £400 was raised for the Kensal Green charity. Pupils have been invited to donate a pound to take part within the enjoyable occasion, the purpose of which was to lift funds and consciousness for Mayhew and to gather contributions of pet-related items for a pet meals financial institution for the charity to share.
As Helena explains, “One of my goals was to lift consciousness of animal welfare and the way pet homeowners in London are struggling to feed their pets in the price of residing disaster. I’ve been so touched by individuals’s generosity and really feel nice figuring out that we’re donating to a charity that’s making such a distinction to help individuals and their pets in London. I can’t thank my associates and my college sufficient for his or her help.”
Ravin Ragnauth, Mayhew Community and Corporate Fundraising Officer, says, “We are so grateful to Helena and to all her schoolfriends for his or her unbelievable efforts assist to lift consciousness about Mayhew and far wanted funds for our work. It prices over £6,000 a day to run Mayhew, and Helena’s efforts will make an enormous distinction to canines and cats in want. She’s a trailblazer!”
