Why do Cats Play With Their Prey?

This article first appeared on iCatCare here.

It’s been urged that cats play extra with ‘harmful’ prey corresponding to rats with a purpose to practise manipulation and dealing with whereas avoiding being bitten.

Or it could be that the cat hasn’t realized tips on how to kill it correctly and so can’t fairly attain that closing stage shortly and cleanly. Movement is then essential with a purpose to preserve the cat’s curiosity in killing the prey and throwing it round causes motion.

Of course, it may very well be that cats merely benefit from the looking sport.
