The RSPCA has launched an investigation after the physique of a cat was discovered tied to a brick in a pond in east London.
The RSPCA was alerted to the incident on Monday (4 March) and Inspector Chris McGreal launched an investigation.
The physique of the cat – a ginger and white long-haired male – was discovered by a member of the general public within the pond at Eastbrookend Country Park in Romford on Monday morning and brought to an area vet who contacted the RSPCA.
Inspector McGreal stated: “The cat was discovered with a rope round his neck which had been tied to a brick. It would seem that this poor cat was thrown into the pond intentionally and left to drown.
“This is a surprising incident and the poor cat will need to have suffered hideously.”
