He appears at me
With soulful eyes
They make him appear
So terribly sensible
A glance that takes
Your breath away
And eyes that appear
To wish to say
Why can’t I eat
What you’ve got?
Why can’t I sleep
Upon the cot?
When can I
Go out to play?
Will you allow me
Alone as we speak?
My darling boy
Why can’t you see
You’re wholly half
Of this household!
You is likely to be furry
And we’re not
But love for you,
There is a lot.
