Purrsday Poetry: A Royal Gift from Prince Richard the Tiger Hearted, a Fine Tabby Indeed

“I do know mew have to be unwell: you’re staying residence
For infinite months now. Though I really like mew right here
Mew make me really feel there’s one thing unusual to worry,
Because mew hoomans have a must roam.

You’re fidgety and fussy: each hour
Mew two are wandering right here and there once more.
Your prince, I’m wondering the place and why and when
You’ll each slink off to work, if mew have energy.

Oh, but mew simpering hoomans sulk and cower
And change the channels up and down once more,
Or stare upon my laptop, or, in zen,
You romp on yogurt mats after which mew bathe.

I heard you’re worrying about some mole.
I slunk out far past your backyard gnome:
Mew didn’t munch that mouse that I introduced residence:
I believed you would possibly want a meadow vole.”

Author notes

I assume this excellent purrtrait {photograph} is courtesy of Pinterest.

I had some argument with the Mews within the final line of the third stanza, so I consulted Him once more, The Sublime Mews Himself, and he expurressed adamantly that yogurt mat is the proper time period. Again, an try has been made to evolve to the North American Feline Dialect in spelling. If mew disagree, I counsel mew take it up along with your cat. I doubt you’ll win the dialogue.
