Today’s Purrsday Poetry submit comes from Erica Herd.
I twist on the couch like a pretzel knot,
it’s a cat’s life for me.
I don’t know why you’re so busy, however I’m not,
it’s a cat’s life for me.
I supervise as you iron the garments, mop the ground,
however I by no means soil my paws.
When you clear the bathroom, I generally leap in.
You towel me off.
I prefer to be swaddled,
however then I wish to be free.
I slap on the blinds until you open the window,
to observe the happenings in my yard–
It’s an excellent life for me.
Why do you go into the world?
It’s higher in right here.
We have the whole lot we want:
meals, toys, a cup of joe,
cozy napping locations.
I prefer to go within the yard,
however then
it’s again in in my bag.
It’s a cat’s life for me.
